The aim of the programme is to train finance and accounting professionals who possess modern economic knowledge that meets international standards, as well as theoretical, factual, and methodological knowledge related to financial and accounting applications. Graduates are capable of producing and utilising reliable data, contributing to the development of knowledge capital as an organisational asset, understanding, operating, and developing financial and accounting systems, making strategic decisions, applying modern planning, management, accounting, and controlling procedures and methods, shaping institutional conditions, reviewing, operating, and developing the information systems of international, national, and regional enterprises, carrying out situation analyses and making proposals to support development objectives, and coordinating processes of interest reconciliation. They are prepared to continue their studies in Master's programmes.

7.1. Professional competences to be acquired

7.1.1. Graduates of the Finance and Accounting BSc programme will possess

  a) the knowledge of

• the fundamental and comprehensive concepts, theories, facts, and national and international relationships of economics, including the relevant economic actors, functions, and processes.
• the fundamental theories and characteristics of the microeconomic and macroeconomic levels of the economy, as well as basic information-gathering methods and mathematical and statistical analysis techniques. The rules and ethical standards of cooperation in projects, teams, and organisations, and the principles of project management.
• the basic concepts of finance and accounting, financial products and markets, the accounting information system, the components of financial statements, and the bookkeeping processes supporting them.
• the relationships between finance and accounting, the most important theoretical approaches, and the foundations of financial and accounting thinking.
• the objectives and fundamental principles of corporate management.
• the financing, accounting, and taxation subsystems of corporate management, the basic principles of corporate finance, and the forms of direct and indirect financing.
• the theoretical foundations and practical application of planning, organising, managing, controlling, and evaluating financial and accounting processes.
• Hungarian and international taxation and accounting regulations, as well as the accounting and financial representation of the establishment, operation, transformation, and termination of business entities.
• the structure of the financial institution system, the characteristics of the different types of financial institutions, the lending process, and the main elements of the operation of the securities market.
• the functions and structure of public finances, the fundamental principles of budgetary management, the basic principles and possible techniques of public financing, and the Hungarian system of financial control and supervision.

  b) the skills to

• be able to plan, organise, manage, and supervise economic activities, projects, small enterprises, and business organisations. By applying the theories and methods acquired during the programme, is able to identify, classify, and analyse facts and fundamental relationships.
• be able to formulate independent conclusions and critical observations, prepare decision-support proposals, and make decisions in both routine and partially unfamiliar domestic and international environments.
• be able to monitor and interpret global economic and international business processes, as well as changes in economic policy, sector-specific policies, and relevant legislation, and take these into account when conducting analyses, making proposals, and making decisions.
• be capable of preparing financial, investment, financing, and capital expenditure decisions, as well as preparing and evaluating loan applications, financial plans, and project proposals.
• be able to use financial and accounting record-keeping systems.
• be able to prepare and analyse financial statements and accounting reports.
• be able to determine tax, duty, customs, excise duty, and social security obligations, and prepare the related declarations.
• be able to prepare accounting policies and accounting regulations.
• be able to calculate economic indicators and draw conclusions based on them.
• be able to communicate in a foreign language.
• be capable of independently processing professional literature.

c) an attitude that

8.1 Professional characteristics

8.1.1. Fields of expertise leading to the qualification

- economics, methodology and business (mathematics, statistics, informatics, micro- and macroeconomics, international economics, finance, corporate economics, business law, marketing, accounting, management, business communication, professional language, environmental economics, basic business studies) 80-90 credits;

-  social sciences (European Union, general and economic law, economic history, sociology, political science, philosophy) 10-20 credits;

-  professional studies in commerce and marketing (corporate governance, economics of commerce, marketing management, organisational behaviour, corporate finance, marketing research, foreign trade techniques, marketing communication, logistics, media economics, and optional specialisations) 70-90 credits.

8.1.2. The number of credits that may be acquired in specialised areas relevant to the professional requirements of the finance and accounting field shall not exceed 30 credits within the total programme.

8.2 Foreign language requirement

To obtain a bachelor's degree, graduates are required to have a state-recognized intermediate level (B2), complex type business language examination in a foreign language corresponding to the field of study, or a state-recognized advanced level (C1), complex type, general language examination or an equivalent certificate or diploma.
